Ryan Callis + Aaron Wines

Art + Wine 002

“Barely anyone is rsvp’ing”… (was this a bad idea?)

“Too many people have rsvp’d”… (where is everyone going to park?)

“They are still rsvp’ing!”… (This could be bad.)

The fact that a truly gifted artist along with a winemaker I’ve only met once agreed to go along with our wild idea still baffles and humbles me.

Ryan’s paintings ending up filling our gallery and spilled over into the hallway and back office.  And while the big moments are definitely in the gallery, the 5 paintings relaxing in the back office are just fantastically curated.  Since the event was in the evening, only a few people got to experience the great northern light filling the room of art before it was just the overhead lighting after sunset.

One of the features of these art shows is to create or leave something permanently in the studio.  Ryan set the bar high on this one! He used one of the original gallery art pieces and turned it into a full wall mural / multiple paintings composition.  Let’s just call it an installation.

Come by before the art is gone.  Experience the relaxed vibe of the day-lit back office and chuckle to yourself (or out loud) as you enjoy “Deuces”.

Aaron Wines brought 5 wines for us to taste through from their two labels.  It was awesome.  Normally I just ask for reds, but I am so glad the Pinot Gris made an appearance.  It is pleasantly light and delicate.  And it was awesome to start the evening with - alongside great conversations.

Katie was the champion here from the winery and kept everyone smiling. I saw many of you leave with bottles in hand and I just want to thank you for supporting them! The next time you need a relaxing weekend head up to visit Aaron Wines at their Tin City tasting room in Paso Robles.

We’re going to keep this going as long as we can keep finding artists and winemakers to go along with our silly idea of bringing people together for art +wine!

Conversations over art and wine were had.  I had multiple, memorable ones and I hope you did as well.  Enjoy the gallery…

And lastly, thank you for being a part of this community we are building; a community of inspiring conversations, new friends, and design thinking. We hope that through an evening of art + wine with us you are inspired to buy some original art for your home or support a California winemaker! See you at the next one…
