Lojistic 3.0
Lojistic 3.0 Newport Beach is the design challenge. A not-so-permanent space, furniture design that solves acoustics, spatial definition of dedicated work space that can break down when a wide open space is needed.
The concept started with a sketch.
Recently the Lojistic headquarters moved to Park City, Utah, so we thought it’d be awesome to give a subtle nod to that through the design. More inspiration? The leaders of this company are known for enjoying adventure—both land and sea varieties—so we created rolling hills, mountains, or waves based on the latitude of Park City.
Next up we wanted to solve site lines inside the office with acoustics, and so we came up with this idea of panelizing in a stained glass kind of way. Allowing us to create and void site lines where we needed to, and infilling with acoustical absorption.
Bring in some color—all those blues that we’ve established throughout each of their office designs—and we’ve got a concept.
It all started with Luke, Matt, and I having a design charrette in the space one spring evening. Matt is one of my favorite fabricators to work with and he’s behind so many of our one of kind projects. He never says no to a big idea, and we worked through a lot of options that night. With Luke being the great instigator, he documented some of the fun.
And last but definitely not least…the installation.
A happy, inspired, and lasting client is why we do this. It almost feels weird to refer to Luke as a client, he’s more of a longtime friend that we’ve worked with many times and love to collaborate with. Here’s a video he sent us of the office in Newport Beach, CA.
