The Artist: Ryan Callis
Ryan and I go back to our high school days in Riverside, California. We reconnected in our 20s at a group art show where Jana and I purchased our first painting of his, entitled “Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…”

Fast forward to when Jana and I rented our first office studio on an alley of downtown Santa Ana. I asked Ryan if he would paint a mural on one of the walls. I had long dreamed of having a studio with a large mural greeting me each day as I walked in. While we paid a ridiculous amount (zero) for the one-of-a-kind, custom fabricated and painted, Ryan Callis art piece, it was a really sad day when we moved out.  A tear was shed as my roller covered in white paint slowly rolled over the clouds and figures gracing our wall.

A couple of studio locations later, and we have our permanent studio here on North Broadway.  And new murals are in our future.  Re-enter Ryan…

I am beyond excited to have Ryan as our first solo artist exhibit here at the studio gallery. Brand new work will adorn our gallery walls along with something permanent that he’s got in store for us.

The Winemaker: Aaron Wines
Jana and I first met Aaron a few years ago at the Paso Wine Fest where we enjoyed some of his red wines. Four trips to his tasting room in Paso Robles, California later… Jana and I have enjoyed many glasses of Aaron & Aequorea wines together, with family and clients. 

I cannot quite put words to how Aaron is curating the essence of the Central Coast into his wine and the vibe of visiting his tasting room experience, but he is and instead of worrying about it I’ll just keep enjoying it.

It’s our honor and pleasure to have Aaron Wines into our studio for a tasting experience. I love Aaron's passion for his home local of the Central Coast and it's a fun bonus to be able to pair his wines with a fellow surfer’s artwork in our very own studio.
